General Discussion / Re: Referee Manager Game
« on: Mon 16 Mar 2026 22:57 »
Really enjoying the game so far, just not having the league table update and having to save a lot otherwise it resets when I want to look at the merit tables. However well done as they are only minor things and is a very impressive platform

Massive congrats to Peter Bankes and his team. Fully deserved even if it is a late replacement. If he is fit enough, Gillet will probs get play off final which Bankes would have got. Good to see that Bramall is involved

This was my prediction back in January, so out of 7, I got 4 right
“Final
Peter Bankes
Wade Smith
Blake Antrobus
Tom Bramall
Alex James
John Brooks
Dan Robathan”

I would definitely be interested in giving this a go

Would you do it as the full team? I.e with assistants and 4th officials?

Select Group - Premier League / Re: Wed 18th Feb 2026

Looks as if Craig Pawson has replaced Rob Jones

Good set of appointments, both fully deserved for Bramall and Bankes who are having amazing seasons.
Kirk and L Smith look like replacements but good for them, however I do agree that J smith should be getting more opportunities.

Considering we have been talking about running people to the ground with overusing them, what about Darren England? VAR in Europe on Thursday, 4thers on Saturday, VAR on Sunday, before middle on Monday. Surely he could have had Saturday off, someone else could be 4thers?

A game I actually went to. Good to see Tierney coming back into the prem, think he did well. For the penalty, in real time I thought was a penalty, and was surprised to see him go the other way. After seeing highlights, I’m happy with a pen being given especially once simulation was given on field.

Bournemouth tried to waste time, which was dealt with as much as possible by Tierney, and it bit them in the behind after a worldie from Brighton.

Not an outstanding performance, however an above average one and one that Tierney and co can walk away from happy.

General Discussion / Re: 2026 Officiating Predictions
« on: Thu 01 Jan 2026 16:33 »
Hi all, hope you had a wonderful Xmas and new years. Here are my 5.

1. Peter Bankes to get the Carabao Cup final, assisted by Blake Antrobus.
2. Chris Kavanagh to referee the fa cup final
3. Tony Harrington or Simon Hooper to get championship play off final.
4. Tom Kirk & Matt Donohue to continue to get games, with both being promoted at of the season. With others top sg2s making debuts such as Ricardo & Whitestone.
5. Alex James to be promoted at end of season while continuing to get a game a month in the prem. Scholes & West to retire end of the season

General Discussion / Re: Man city V Brentford - Sam Barrott

Just watched the clip, for me it’s a red card and the player knows it. Poor from normally a very good Sam Barrott

A Christmas present for bmb. A chance to celebrate Kavs first game since becoming an Elite!

Brooks is the perfect referee for our game at Spurs, also Tierney is back.....

Donohue back for a 3rd trial game, he and Kitchen seem to be the favourite 2 from SG2 right now.

Beswick must be injured. Nunn will be getting a nosebleed being AR1 for so long!

Beswick is on paternity leave it seems as it looks like he has just had another child. Massive congrats to him

General Discussion / Re: FIFA WC List UEFA Referees
« on: Sat 15 Nov 2025 23:39 »
Personally, I prefer Oliver over Taylor but there is surely no way that they both do not go. Both are very good referees. My list would be:
Oliver
Taylor
Kovacs
Letexier
Turpin
Marcinak
Vincic
Zwayer
Makkelie

I would also add on Nyberg, Eskas and Kruzliak

Mariani will probably be there as well, plus another Spanish guy.

And I think they could send Pejito or Pinhero just to hold the boards for experience

I genuinely didn’t think there would be so many people saying this is a pen.

He is going down way before Martinez gets there, if he stays on his feet, he will be taken out and therefore get a pen but he goes down first, therefore in no world should it be a pen

I don’t think it’s a foul, but once VAR gets involved it’s going to be overturned
