Bobby Madley…. Well I am shocked.

I am really shocked we didn’t get a SG1 referee for one of the biggest games of our season. I get he used to be part of SG1 and the game is very early and isn’t exactly decisive, but one wrong decision could be looked back on later on if either team miss out on promotion. I know that is unlikely, but not impossible.

Not the case anymore. The big games in the league seem to go  to SG2

Burnley Vs Sheff Utd showed that last year, you’ll end up with Kitchen 6 times

Macho man for Norwich on Saturday… he’s usually a frequent visitor to Carrow Road rather than away!

Christ. I was going off the fact we had Michael Salisbury for the same game in the Championship, we even had Graham Scott for a game against Rotherham pre-injury. I am already predicting Andrew Kitchen for at least one of the East Anglian Derbies. I am tied between one of the Smiths, Donohue, Webb or an SG1 referee. It will probably go to Kitchen, but hey-ho. I was quite confused how Watford vs QPR got Harrington whilst we got an SG2 when I thought it’d be vice versa.

Lewis Smith could have an eventful day.  Wednesday fans protested peacefully at Leicester, I'm far from convinced the same will apply for the first home game and there has been a lot of talk about stopping the game.

No sign of Linington Alisson and Simpson this season. Linnington was listed for an EFL cup game this week but replaced.

Agree with you there. As a Stoke fan, I've seen Wednesday fans telling us not to bother buying tickets (£35). Sounds like part of their protest may involve a pitch invasion, so while it might only be rumour or social media talk, I was expecting a more experienced SG2 official on the game. That said, Lewis Smith always looks to have a calm demeanour if such a situation does arise.

With the appointment of E Bell last week and Speedie this, it shows they will still give opportunities to those outside SG2 and the Supplementary list

Probably the most athletic bloke on the pitch! All decisions in law were backable - only real contentious one being a YC for simulation late on. One of those where if Ogilvie doesn't go down as theatrically then Martin probably points to the spot - instead, he makes a meal of it and Martin reckons he's tried to con him. If there's contact it's minimal and easily missed in real time.

No complaints from the other end, Couldn't tell about the one turned down but seeing the replays it's one I've seen given.

I didn't think he looked as "bulky" as last season, maybe just got larger kit.

There was one very poor foul throw near the end that the AR should have spotted.
