At least we get the cream of the group for our game at Forest.

I suppose to the exact letter of the law he was correct but surely the situation just needed managing. The Derby player who instigated the incident didn't help matters by his feigning agony!
Surely this will be overturned on appeal?

I can only hope that Woolmer and Davies weren't first and second.

Seriously, SG2 is garbage at present. Some officials really shouldn’t be plying their trade in a group which has rich rewards at the end for some. Only one or two of the officials on there at present are of good standard.

To me, the lad was only trying to get his foot loose. The appeals panel obviously agreed. He also failed to give an absolute stonewall penalty for a shove in the back- although it didn't affect the result. I've never been impressed by Simpson. One of those who was a better assistant.
