Royalty for carrowman to watch… I wonder if Darren England is making a return?

Stroud with the pick of the games at Leicester, and another game for Lewis Smith.

Also some very poor appointing with Lugg doing successive Hull games inside five days 🙄

Good to see some of the newer refs being given games. Why do Norwich Sunderland and boro always get given SG1 refs?

No middles for Smith or Barrott across both sets of fixtures, just 4O duties midweek. With 8 PL games  all on Saturday stretching the SG1 pool potentially one or both be down for another trial.

Inevitably three hours before kick off following a day of constant rain, discussions with the local authorities and the EFL concluded that Rotherham v Ipswich was to be postponed for supporter safety reasons after the River Don burst its banks in Rotherham. It seems as though the drainage at the ground did well though.

SPFL have postponed games in the red weather zone 24 hours in advance.   Remarkably proactive.

To be fair if it had been a RED zone in England then EFL would have postponed games immediately. Always hard when the ground is playable but its the travelling conditions that cause the postponement

Shame the EPL don't do the same.  AFC Bournemouth still getting slated for not calling off a game when we were in a red zone for a storm, despite requested it be cancelled the day before the game & having that refused by the EPL who finally allowed for it to be called off when part of the roof had collapsed & they had proof of this for several hours before saying yes by which time fans of both teams had already/were already traveling!

Bournemouth were in the EFL at the time. That was also due to be a televised fixture which perhaps points the finger at the pressures of Sky TV coverage. Expect much more of the same next season with the increased coverage as part of the new broadcasting deal.
