Followed by another "local" in Keith Stroud

John Busby (in stark contrast to those promoted to SG1) on his 5th or 6th game already. Builds confidence and reputation

Second consecutive week that young Finnie is on board duties to a SG1 official… Just a coincidence?

I agree as QPR fan I find it ridiculous to have a Ref so close to the home team

Why? Stroud is not a fan of bmth, has no ties to the club, why should a referee have to travel "a certain distance" to prove they are neutral?

The last I knew, Mr. Stroud was based in Gillingham (Dorset) some 30 miles away. He's not as local as he was before. In the PL, Greater Manchester based Refs Messrs. Taylor, Kavanagh and Tierney are often given home games at Manchester United or Manchester City which PGMOL think is OK too.

I think he is Hampshire based now.  When in Gillingham the postcode rule was still in effect so he didn't referee AFCB. He would turn up to do ground checks in winter if there was a danger of a game being called off but that was it.  He only refereed us once he had moved out of Dorset.  No problem at all with neutrality though, he's a Luton Town fan I believe. I think he may have gone to Bournemouth boys grammar school at one time, but not 100% sure on that. Agree with you re Kavanagh, Taylor & Tierney. Different if a ref has links to a cub either via supporting them or they/an immediate relative have played in the academy or one of the clubs teams but just living within a few miles of the ground is no reason, imo.
Hajrá Lilák. Csak a Kispest. Hajrá Magyarok! Hajrá játékvezetői csapat! Soha ne add fel. Nincs sárga kérem!!! No Chris Kavanagh doesn't live in Ashton or even in the Greater Manchester area!!

The previous postcode rule was silly.  I live in London, had I made it to the heady heights of the Football League I would have been precluded from officiating any team with a London postcode.  Yet I could do, for example, Barnet and Watford, who are closer to me than some of the London teams I couldn't go to.  And given I support a team in the North of England, and have absolutely no interest in any London teams, that really shows what an absurdity the rule was.

Who is scheduling these refs. Langford refereeing Luton for the second time in about 3-4 weeks?

And comes off injured with a calf problem, replaced by Andy Haines for injury time. He ruled out a perfectly good goal and missed a blatant red card in the first 5-10 minutes.

No complaints about the result at brammel lane today, but as a Posh fan the foul count of 18 to 1 did highlight some of Mr Martin's inconsistencies

I think there was 2 red cards missed at Blackburn. This "tackle" also highlights the unfairness of post match disciplinary action. Had the officials done nothing, this tackle gets reviewed and a red card imposed. Because the yellow is issued there can be no retrospective action. Langford nor AR1 would have had the best angle - Andy Haines' involvement should have started then.
The 2 footed lunge after a late whistle should also have seen red.
Knowing the ref came off I did watch him closely and he was definitely slowing down as the game went on (although Haines is hardly the most athletic replacement)

I would also query Mings "tackle" as the deepest orange, if not red. No control in challenge, launched in. I thought red.
