world cup final 2026 half time show
« on: Sun 19 Jul 2026 12:12 »
hi,

it's being widely, reported the half time show at today's WC final is likely to extend to 30 minutes. performers include madonna, shakira, justin beiber and chris martin/coldplay.

thoughts? (including players and officials muscular well-being after being used to just 15 minutes max)?

regards,

gnr

Just part of the debased practice of turning football into showbiz which has been a feature of this World Cup under Infantino's craven and dreadful mismanagement.

Plus trying to copycat the Super Bowl half time rock concert.

I shan’t be watching this final… particularly with a certain president presenting the trophy.

FIFA and its reputation is firmly in the sewerage system with all the political interference in my opinion.

If I hadn’t already become a non-watcher on principle,  I would become a non-watcher on principle after this latest piece of c**p.

Less than a month until proper EFL action starts again.

Or just over a month for the Premier League…

Yes and no, gooner.  After the telly packed up I did manage to see some games at friends or down the pub, if they kicked off before the witching hour.

The ‘on principle’ bit kicked in with news of The Rump’s disgraceful intervention over that red card.  (I would quote it with a nice blue background here like everyone else does, but I have no idea how that’s done!).

So I haven’t seen a ball kicked since 6th July.  Enjoy the Final!

True, TA_Ref, but for non-league lovers like me, “proper” action starts this coming weekend.  On the agenda is Eastern Counties League Division 1 South, May & Baker v newly-promoted Hertford Heath.

Back to reality.  Back to sanity!

hi,

look to the right hand side of the message you wish to quote and press the button marked 'quote'  - it's really that easy - then just type your message/reply etc below  the end of the quote
and if you want to see how it looks before you post it, press 'preview'

hope this helps

Thanks very much, gooner.  I shall see if this works - although at this moment, I’m not seeing any blue background on your last message that I’m quoting.  But maybe it will appear like magic when I press ‘Post’.  We shall see. . .

I’ve noticed that people often quote just a bit of a previous post, but I can’t see how that is done.  It seems to be ‘all or nothing’.  When you’ve got a moment, would you be good enough to advise me please.  Sorry to be a pest but I really am a technological idiot.  I’m well known in my circles for it!  (Which is why it took me so long to actually work out how to become a member!).

Hope you’re enjoying the Final - but I must say several neighbours are watching it, with their windows open, and I can’t say I’ve heard much in the way of excitement yet!

Hmm.  Part of that had a nice blue background and part didn’t.  I knew I would get something wrong!

I'll email you next week and send you a how to guide with pictures if that will help. I always find it easier with pictures because it helps to visualise it better.

It's common on here for people to mess up the blue part because the
ends up in the wrong place for many reasons, either they type above it & their post ends up in the quote or they accidentally delete it. You're not alone, I fix them on a regular basis!

hi,

rather than my explanation, let's wait until bmb sends you the email mentioned above which is likely to clarify things - no point in stepping on the bosses' toes

any issues, let me know
