Quite right about Ken Aston, AT

Almost right about Miroslav Stupar (France - Kuwait) when the latter stopped playing on hearing a whistle from the crowd. Kuwait protested and would not restart, with several bigwigs in Arab dress coming down onto the pitch. Eventually the game restarted and of course France won. The situation was reminiscent of Ali Kandil 12 years earlier, though with a different starting point.

Two interesting suggestions for Robert Wurtz - neither of which was the one I had in mind - obviously not a one-hit wonder. I was thinking of something closer to home.

Was it about a problem with Robert's final game as a FIFA referee in Wales? Of course, it has suddenly come back to me. Wales v Scotland, and who handled the ball in the penalty area? Wurtz gave a penalty to Scotland which sent them to the World Cup, later replays suggested that it was a Scottish hand which made contact with the ball. The Welsh never forgave him for that.
