The start of this one shows the head capo leading the singing from the front before the march starts! Then there is a view from further back down the line where you can see the ripple effect on the singing starting at the front & working its way back.

This was a section of the fan march before the Iceland game at the Euros. Reported widely in the media as 10's of thousands and no trouble.  The ultras are the guys head to toe in black, faces normally covered in scarves or wearing balaclavas, the people in regular clothes & the national colours are the 'normal' fans. Any attack on the fans by other country ultras, one set of ultras would deal with them whilst the rest get the regular fans away from it, any of our fans get a bit lippy to any bystanders/locals then they get put firmly back in their place by the ultras, they won't be stupid enough to repeat the mistake!! The bystander/locals would receive an immediate apology & reassurance it won't happen again. Happens rarely - any pre-arrange ultra v ultra shenanigans are well arranged, far away from the fan march, not that I approve but they keep it between themselves - no regular fan of either side will ever be involved, it's a very strict ruling. Any regular fan would instead be protected, taken immediately to safety & there is retribution if one were to get hurt.

Our manager wouldn't let me go and join this one! Team coach was bouncing along with them though! It was great fun!

bmb ---sorry, I have only just seen these today because I have not had very much computer time recently because of difficulties trying to sort out my charity cases who are not on the internet and I am unable to leave telephone messages as well. In addition, our charity HQ has instructed that, because of my age, I am not to visit so it is like being in Catch 22 and I have been trying to resolve their problems from a distance!

Very interesting footage in the three clips and that Cup Final turned out to be a cracking match from all accounts.
Who knows, once we get over all the current problems, things may return to 'normal' --whatever that is ---and I get to visit Hungary and add it to the list of countries where I have either watched or played. Stay safe!!
Referee's decision used to be final!

The charities are more important!

I stuck it here as I figured the VAR thread was not the right place for it - should have linked to it in that thread though maybe.

The cup match was at the end of my 1st season working with Lilák. In the preseason when I started there I bet our gorgeous manager that we would win the Magyar Kupa and/or finish in the top 3 in the league but only if he gave me a kit shirt with his name & #1 on the back.  He laughed at me, took the bet & bought me the shirt, which I wore every single game - we won the cup and finished 3rd in the league! He is still paying off my winnings

Hate not being with him & our boys right now but we are Skyping regularly.  If he & I are still at the club when you finally get to Hungary, I will arrange for you to have a full stadium tour, lunch at the club & VIP tickets for a game. As I am on his team of staff if he leaves I leave with him, hopefully we will remain there though - Néni loves her boys.

You stay safe as well - I'm always around for a chat Skype/WhatsApp/email/Text/Facetime if you ever need to talk x

Lovely to read things like this. You are a true football maniac ----it takes one to know one and I have a good friend up here in the north east who will be very interested in reading this when I get chance to see him again ---he is also a real football maniac and knows more about non-league football  than  many people.
Keep up the good work --even if it is from a distance! I am an eternal optimist, in spite of what you may think with my many comments about VAR, and I just never worry about anything, a mindset I have had since 11 February 1985 because of an incident in Germany which changed my thinking on everything.
Stay positive and we may just get the chance to meet up on that trip in the future. x

The cheeky wotsits are playing me up!

I started yesterday's Skype session with "Ma Nénivel - Szabály 11: A Les" (Today with Néni (Aunt) Law 11 - Offside).  Lots of eye rolling and use of the mute button!!! We have absolutely the worst record of offside, 3 disallowed goals in the last 3 games because they can't stay onside!  ::)

They seem to forget who deals with any discipline issues - they will blimmin listen!!
