21. I am not aware of Hull's connection with Barnacle geese, but am prepared to be enlightened. My answer. though, is very lowbrow.

I was taking hull (lower case) re barnacle
rather than the city (upper case)

You have identified Maxwell and Pope correctly. Now to find the birds.
H5 You are correct that Harrison is a forename (but not a Fordname).
39 is not a run-on. As lowbrow a reference as Rod was.
16 Not a scraper  -a power tool would be required.
H7 David shares his surname with a famous Glasgow library. I don't think this would feature in his Atlas.
