Very interesting set of appointments - Madley at Chelsea and Bankes at Man United are a touch unexpected but pleasing nevertheless.  Dean, Atkinson and pawson have the important fixtures in terms of head to head battles, and Kavanagh has a game that is important game to both teams for different reasons.

Biggest game of the midweek IMO is Brighton Fulham so good to see a high ranking referee appointed!

I sincerely hope that Nuno isn't too upset about the fact  that Lee Mason will be sat in his box looking at VAR just 14 miles away from  his match on the Wednesday. May it upset his players?  ;D
Referee's decision used to be final!

IIRC we’ve not had Oliver or Pawson once this season yet?

Not has Oliver yet. Should have had Pawson against Burnley but it was called off

Very pleased that Peter Bankes is refereeing Utd vs Sheff Utd as I’ve been impressed however please could some help out with this

In that recent interview Michael Oliver stayed he couldn’t referee teams around the team he supports - Newcastle and IIRC Kevin Friend was taken off a Tottenham game in Leicester’s title winning season despite supporting Bristol City , here we have  Peter Bankes from Merseyside and yet Utd are top of table with Liverpool challenging them what’s the difference ?

It depends as to who he supports not where he is from or lives currently.  The old postcode rule regarding appointments was dropped 3/4 seasons ago now.  Friend is a known Leicester supporter as well as supporting Bristol City, he has 2 teams he actively supports. I can relate to that! I have a league team in the UK plus several non league teams, 2 league & 2 non league teams in Hungary, a non league team in Russia, a team in Slovakia, a couple in Romania and 1 in Serbia! :D  Banks is obviously not a Liverpool fan although I don't know who he supports.
Hajrá Lilák. Csak a Kispest. Hajrá Magyarok! Hajrá játékvezetői csapat! Soha ne add fel. Nincs sárga kérem!!! No Chris Kavanagh doesn't live in Ashton or even in the Greater Manchester area!!

He also said that was towards the end of the season, not throughout it.  Also you have no idea who Peter Bankes supports, might be Liverpool, might be Everton, might be someone completely different.  From the interview ...

‘Because Newcastle are invariably involved in a relegation battle, when you get to March or April, it means I can’t referee anyone around them towards the bottom three. If Newcastle needed a point to survive and the team they were fighting to get above was say Villa, I couldn’t referee Villa’s game either. I wouldn’t want to. It’s not worth the hassle.’

Also interesting that when Taylor has been appointed to Newcastle he loses Nunn. I know he from Bath but any links to the NE?

Nunn is from Wiltshire I think, so I think it is more likely to do with how far he has to travel.

Hasn't stopped him going to Chorley on Friday or Bobby Madley going to Swansea and Swindon.
