For what reason? Both teams have managed to field a team today so, unless there are further cases, they should be told to play or forfeit!

Premier league rules are different to FA rules and leicester only have 8 fit outfield players

I would beg to differ as they used 14 players today, with another 4 unused on the bench.

Premier League rules are you have to register a squad of 25 players in August and January, but players under 21 don't have to be registered.  Any player can play, so if the game is off it is because they are choosing not to play and not because they can't field a team.  Only 4 of the 14 used today are not in their registered squad, and one of their subs is.

You could say this about any postponed game though over the last 6 weeks or so? So if everyone else is able to call games off, why is it different?

Bit like Liverpool not choosing to play on Thursday night then when they only had 3 cases amongst players

Because they are probably playing the system.  They are willing to risk using U23 squad players in the cups but not in the league, and there is even more of an incentive to do it now with so many players missing for the African Cup of Nations.  Rightly or wrongly the EPL have said you have to play if you have 12 available outfield players and a keeper, but that is only out of the nominated 25 player squad and doesn't take into account U21 players who are fit and available to play, such as those that played yesterday.

Let’s face, PL clubs want the lucrative money of the league. FA Cup money is insignificant in comparison.

The FA Cup has turned into a second rate competition for them, and I suspect these clubs aren’t bothered if they get knocked out so that the riches of the league are solely focused on, hence why they aren’t going to get these called off.

It’s even worse in the Football League Cup.

Ridiculous situation.

Sky TV won’t be happy either.

Might put Fulham on instead 🤣😝.

What a total shambles, They had enough to beat Watford on Saturday but not enough for Tuesday. Including players away in Africa is a disgrace.

The Premier League is no better than the local Sunday league who allow teams to call off when their star player is on holiday!

Ultimately PL, like other competitions, will set criteria for games being called off and if that criteria is fulfilled then they're entitled to call game off. You can argue if PL's rules are appropriate but you can't really change them mid season.

I'm not sure you can really compare to FA Cup because most teams aren't bothered about that, relatively speaking, and as is mentioned with the discussion about use of VAR in FA Cup one match in cup doesn't really impact on another so integrity of competition isn't affected as much whereas it might be in a league game as it could affect rest of league.

I do believe they were changed mid season. Pre season I understand there was no mention in PL handbook of injuries being taken into account it was only amended in December when covid protocols were introduced and injuries were included. In my opinion wrongly.

Yes, they usually come out on a Tuesday when there's a Monday night game, even when its a cup game.

Thought Stuart Attwell was excellent tonight. Positioning a bit off in the first half - got in the way of the play too often and once the ball hit him from a pass - but in general he let the game flow and not too eager with his whistle or his cards.
