Or knowing Riley’s management, probably not!

According to the Premier League website, Martin Atkinson has replace Craig Pawson as the referee for Brighton-Arsenal tonight
Is there a reason for this?

No one will know that other than the officials and PGMOL.  Changes can be made for a whole host of reasons such as injury, illness, personal problems, or of course in the current climate Covid related issues.  With the weather issues it may well be they are also worried about travel, and as Atkinson was already in the South two days before on VAR duty they could have asked him to stay down to avoid Pawson having to travel down.  Who knows though.

Craig is fine. That I can say.

Atkinson has Arsenal again on Saturday at West Brom... I suspect that will have to change as well.

Given they actually appointed Taylor to consecutive Everton games, 2 in 5 days, at the end of last season, I am not convinced they will make any changes for Atkinson.

I anticipate more as Tier 4 kicks in in 23 extra areas!

I suspect the PL will carry on, just with games off here and there.  They can only suspend it, or have this circuit break they are talking about, if all other European leagues do the same.  It is scheduled to finish 23/05, Euro 2020(1) starts on 11/06, there simply isn't time for a two week break unless UEFA agree to move the Euros back.

Championship might be OK, but I can see below that being called off and potentially even scrapped again.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I am now starting to think we might have made a mistake restarting the season in June. Would have given the leagues more leeway this season had we started the season beginning of August

It doesn't make much sense to me to have written off last season to try and get this one played in its entirety - especially as it wouldn't have been known (and still isn't) if that can be 100% be achieved. At least this season there has been the understanding that average points per game etc. could be used so people know what they're dealing with a bit more.

Perhaps they could consider delaying the FA Cup third round fixtures until next season, reducing the need for different teams from different leagues to mix, giving many teams a break on 3rd round weekend and giving a few more slots in the season for postponed games to be played. I doubt it will happen because of financial impact it would have for FA/broadcasting but I can imagine many 3rd round games having to be either postponed or forfeited (not entirely sure what the rules are.)

Everywhere else is now on their winter break so their leagues are not going anyway.  We return from the winter break on 23rd Jan - well that's the scheduled date anyway. Very short winter break this season as we didn't finish until 23rd December.

Not everywhere.  Spain are playing through, Italy having a short break, France and Germany slightly longer.  The point is the same though, if the scheduled start of the Euros stays the same none of the leagues have any wriggle room to put unscheduled breaks in.  They would all have to get together and persuade UEFA to push it back.

That's why we finished late with rescheduled games from weeks 10 & 11.  Still 3 more games carried over from autumn season to spring season, 2 scheduled for January, 1 not re-scheduled yet and we re-start at a time when the snow is normally at its worst, just to add weather into the mix! Our last scheduled week is 8th May, we only have 3 scheduled midweek rounds, out of the 17 left, but 5 rounds of cup games to fit in, which are normally midweek, 2 in Feb, 1 in march, 1 in April and the final 5th May. As you say - no wiggle room.

International break 20th & 27th March doesn't help either.
