SG1 in the FL:

Queens Park Rangers FC (First Team) v Blackburn Rovers FC (First Team)
Football League Championship
Referee: Hooper, Simon
Assistant Referee: Leach, Daniel
Assistant Referee: Mainwaring, James
Fourth Official: Purkiss, Sam

Sheffield Wednesday FC (First Team) v Wigan Athletic FC (First Team)
Football League Championship
Referee: Mason, Lee
Assistant Referee: Scholes, Mark
Assistant Referee: Hudson, Shaun
Fourth Official: Oldham, Scott

Oh great shan't venture to Hillsborough now. The last time Lee Mason was there he looked totally uninterested was miles behind play and didn't have a clue.

Can't pay good money to watch that again

Don't you go to watch the match rather than the referee?!

Good to see Madley getting another PL game. Kavanagh gets an interesting looking game. Dean a safe pair of hans for the Sunday 16.30 game.

I think that Coote and Bankes should have had more games so far and I'd say Friend, Scott and Moss have been a bit overused (I think Scott in particular has generally done well out of them but I think they have generally been solid referees at best and aren't going to progress much further whereas some of the up and coming referees have much more scope for development.)

Dean a "safe pair of hands"!?  Back in 2013/14/15 yes I would agree, but the past 4 years he's been nothing short of shambolic.  It's like he's trying to prove a point each game he officiates nowadays, not sure there's anyone left whose skin he hasn't gotten under!

The guy cannot see Mark Noble diving in front of his own eyes, Harry Kane being hauled down in front of his own eyes by Lascelles just an example of his horrific officiating.  There's no hope for our officials if you think he is one of the best at the moment.  Can we actually name any of the SG officials who are consistently good, nowadays it's easier to say those who had good games as opposed to the reverse.

So two mistakes that any ref could make all of a sudden make him not a top referee.

Using those 2 as an example, his foul detection is no good anymore, he's not up with play enough and isn't getting the big decisions right at all.  Should retire, but then it leaves a whole bunch of ineptitude elsewhere.  There are no safe pairs of hands anymore, VAR is only proving that in the extreme.

Mike Dean has been at his best in recent seasons.  I wasn't always his biggest fan, but the older he got the more I have grown to like him as a referee.  yes he has made mistakes, but I would say less than any other PGMOL 1 referee.

I didn't think the penalty appeal in the Tottenham V Newcastle game was a penalty and I think Mike Dean has been one of the best SG1 referees since at least 2008/09, aside from a time around 2017/18 when I thought he had quite a notable dip and didn't get many of the 'top' games.

In terms of consistency over a sustained period, I think he's been one of the very best Premier League referees and I'd still put him in the top 5 comfortably.

Astonishing.  The guy is regressing at a rate of knots, he loves to annoy certain teams & players (his current hate list appears to be Spurs having previously been Arsenal - this is across about 3 years now).  Spurs knocked his beloved Tranmere for 7 back in January.  Presume you also rate the equally inept Moss, Mason, Atkinson, Taylor & Pawson?

He steps across him, puts his arm out and stops his run!  It is a stonewall 100% penalty kick.  Happened 2 months ago and am staggered the minority still stick up for this decision!  I could choose plenty more but let's not!

So you think that Mike Dean has held a three year grudge against Spurs because he anticipated a not exactly unsurprising win for them over a then League 2 side in January 2019 and you think that he is as inept as a referee who officiated at Euro 2016 and a Europa League final and a referee who officiated PSG V Real Madrid a few weeks ago?

Is something wrong with VAR at The Emirates?

Have they changed the laws of the game overnight?

Dive + VAR = Penalty in Liverpool

Shove + VAR = No Penalty in London (TWICE)

Bournmouth Goalkeeper crashes into own player - gets a Free Kick zzzzzzz

Just saying his sequence of decisions against Spurs is unbelievable, similar to the Arsenal games a few years back.  Do you want me to list all the games...?
