We had Graham Scott Tim Robinson and John Brooks first Prem game.

Teams are battling for their lives they deserve the best referees for their big games like the big teams get.

Happy with Tierney for the game at Newcastle.

It beats the usual dross we get such as Hooper, and Friend

"Battling for their lives"? Really? Battling to keep the cash coming in, you mean.

You might get Michael Oliver instead and he might make a dreadful decision that loses you a game. What then?

Whilst Oliver could make a stinker. He’s more experienced in the premier league and that is needed in games like Newcastle
Vs Burnley.

I'm sure he'd love to referee Newcastle v Burnley....

Instead you've got another FIFA official.

Anyway, I mentioned Burnley v Watford earlier, as it's arguably the only fixture that evening that Tony Harrington MIGHT be appointed to. Whether you like it or not, new referees are always going to start out with the smaller clubs.

If I was Tony Harrington I would be feeling pretty p****d off to be honest and wondering why I was being treated in this way, as I suspect most of us would too

Where is Tony Harrington from?

I may be wrong but believed him to be North East based which may make Newcastle an inappropriate appointment?

He’s from Hartlepool. I know he has refereed Sunderland in the past during our championship season so there shouldn’t be an issue for Newcastle games either.

Yh if Taylor can referee the Manchester teams, and Dean can referee the merseyside teams, then there should be no issue with Harrington doing Newcastle.

I'm not really a fan of the 'Does such and such a fixture really need X?' All teams in a league deserve to have the chance to be refereed by a league official and no referee should think a game in the league they officiate in beneath them in any way. (Clattenburg complained about being given West Brom V Crystal Palace, I think it was, the week after he'd left for Saudi Arabia, which I'm not sure was the best attitude.)

But equally I recognise that the less experienced referees need to have opportunities and it makes sense to introduce them to some lower profile games rather than throwing them in to say Chelsea V Manchester United on Sky as their first PL match. I'm not sure if Burnley are the easiest team to officiate though!

The same Burnley team that hasn’t had a red card in over 100 games which also broke a premier league record.

Media brainwashing everyone with the narrative that we are dirty team.

Well that’s blown out the Fulham v AFCB game going to royalty….. I really hope it’s not Simpson or Langford.
I guess whoever is getting that game must be top of the SG2 performance stats.

Oliver with the Midlands derby which has been pretty feisty recently… and good to see Marriner on a top four clash.

No Oliver  :(
No Gillett  :(
No Marriner  ;D

"Everyone"?

Why keep making such sweeping generalisations?

I think Newcastle V Burnley is a pretty big game. I thought Harrington might get Leeds V Brentford. There's a double week next weekend and then it's Christmas so sure he'll get a PL game or two in there.

Good to see Gillett on a Spurs game and Marriner with West Ham V Chelsea.
As Villa in the past, and most recent, have a history of referees getting their first prem games with them involved, i reckon harrington Will get Norwich v Villa in the next set of mid week games.

Salisbury at Palace, Scott at Burnley, Mason at Middlesbrough come immy to mind.

Due to the postponement I thought they would have given banks a game
Yet again Harrington with no game but is due one and shame no game for Salisbury after doing well in his first
Gillet getting the games in and long spell on prem duty

I think these are a great set of appointments. Dean not having far to travel from where he is from, Everton v Arsenal will be a good one for him. Interesting to see Bankes with a game in the championship, but I suppose considering Kavanagh had one last week, I guess it is his turn. In terms of the SG1 given to the Championship, I am very surprised that Blackpool vs Luton has landed one but no SG1 for the top of the table clash but good to see they have every faith in the SG2 hand. Roll on this week of fixtures
