Yet another well deserved big appointment for Paul Tierney I think he has picked up most of the big matches so far this season still no PL middles for the newbies except Gillett last week

Nor any appointments for the newbies in the EFL cant be good for confidence, morale or development, let alone fitness.
Great game for Tierney well deserved and good that Oliver and Taylor dont get all the top matches.

Given she is on AVAR duty I would say either injured or recovering from injury and maybe only doing AVAR duty until she’s fully recovered , I assume AR Simon Beck has retired as I’ve not seen his name on any appointments this season

Thank you for info, he's doing AVAR duty on Saturday

This will be the 3rd time this season. Guess, if he has retired, he is becoming specialist AVAR like Matthew Wilkes

Can’t believe I missed Simon Becks name on the appointments list ( I’m red faced haha )  (Edited to fix quote)

For the last couple of weeks there has been an Andrew Halliday appointed to referee in the South of Scotland League. Given that he was born in Galloway, and was once seen listed in a programme as being from Gretna, could this be the reason, whether temporarily or permanently? Or maybe just coincidence?

And a certain Stephen Child is a current Observer on Step 2.

Liverpool FC (First Team) v Manchester City FC (First Team)
Premier League
Referee: Tierney, Paul
He'll be getting his own seat on the team bus at this rate.

While I have no objection to Tierney - he is having a good season - he reffed our game v Leicester only 2 rounds ago and the charity Shield in August. Even by the PL’s standard of erratic appointing this does seem excessive

With Norwich having had Rob Jones for 2 successive home games, I'm not sure that they even look at previous appointments and it just seems to becoming the norm that each club seems to only have a small pool of referees appointed rather than the whole group.

a poor set of appointments in my opinion usual suspects apart from the odd 1 or 2

no sign of the newbies but would have been ideal for them this weekend as they've got to wait till after the internationals now to see if they're going to get some prem action
