Once again, poor planning by Riley. Arsenal have Pawson twice in two games.

This is getting ridiculous!

Pawson is in the middle for the Chelsea game and is fourth the following game. That's Probably What He Means, Though it's not that big a deal.

They quite rightly have a lot of faith in Jones at Brighton that they've not put a SG1 official on board duties for him...

The only reason Robinson was given an SG1 was because no matter how he managed the game, both managers would never except any of the decisions knowing it was his first game. I was at the match, and like most pundits thought the two decisions being talked about were correct. If Bruce can’t teach his team to defend corners then that’s not down to the referee. Jones has been given an easier game with two managers who are unlikely to kick off.

Good to see Robert Jones make his PL debut in the middle and delighted to see Chris Kavanagh on the Arsenal vs Man Utd match

Entirely agree. I think Rob Jones has huge potential and hopefully this will be realised in due course. Kananagh clearly rising very steadily up the ranks, he is going to be regarded as one of the " big hitters" in the next year if indeed he isn't already.

Great to see Rob Jones having his first PL Game, could turn out to be one our best referees in the future

Looks like Robert Jones had an excellent afternoon at Brighton.  Bravo Robert, long may it continue with future appointments.  New blood is essential for reasons I won't list as my post won't get posted and I'll be wasting my time!

Phenomenal achievement & credit to his fitness over the years for being able to achieve this.  Not sure many clubs would agree with me mind you....

Oliver showing yesterday why he’s streets ahead of Taylor: IMO a faultless performance!

I wonder whether Kasper Schmeichel will be in trouble after his remarks about Oliver, including "he is desperate to give it" (the penalty to Liverpool).

He certainly should be in trouble casting aspersions of that nature.  What a contrast to the dignified comments of his Manager.

Only saw the highlights but noticed that Michael Oliver was in a great position to give the penalty for handball.

Many years ago, when he was with Notts County (at the time they were paying wages they couldn't afford, a la Bury), he was beaten by a penalty at Rochdale. Schmeichel then proceeded to launch the ball out of the ground instead of returning it to the centre circle.

Later in the game, while being taunted by Dale fans in a typical display of lower league supporter humour, he turned to them, rubbing his fingers together to indicate how much money he was earning.

He's a horrible individual.
