Pawson who failed to give Burnley a penalty last week is the referee this week. Friend involved in a city game again as VAR. Atkinson for the derby. Mason big game at the bottom. Dean on Bournemouth three weeks after the game at Turf Moor

I'm pleased that Martin Atkinson has got the Mersey derby as he is still one of the best. Ditto Mike Dean at AFCB v Palace, a top game for a top ref  ;D

Oliver’s team would suggest a European tie is on the cards for them the following week....

Coote back in the PL after a less than adequate last couple of weeks and bmb gets the pleasure of the card shark from the Wirral.

Arteta has been diagnosed with conoravirus now... Premier League to hold emergency meeting tomorrow. I cannot see how any games will be held after this report.. more so Arsenal will definitely not be playing following this news.

In Germany there must be an official in the team capable of taking over in either role - referee or assistant. That is perhaps easier there, as 2nd Division referees will regularly be appointed as assistants anyway. Would two "reserves" be necessary in this country?

There should be no lack of available officials given that L1 and L2 aren't restarting making a whole load of NL ARs available to act as reserve ARs.
