Peter retired last season and is now refereeing on the local leagues in Northampton

Oh right thanks for clarifying that I thought he was still on the list but a lengthy look at the appointments from beginning of the season shows no sign of Peter Kirkup yet I had it in my mind that his name had been down I was wrong

These are due to be last set of PL appointments before Webb takes over.

Good games for Jones and Salsbury.

Mr Kirkup was one of the most consistent AR’s we had in the last ten years.

I know Newcastle are in the top 6 currently or even top 3 but I mean of the usual classic top 6

Newcastle definitely members of the top 6 along with Arsenal, Man City, Spurs, Brighton and Chelsea

Good game for Salisbury at Tottenham given that Leeds seems to play better against the top teams this season so should be close.

Although the underlying reason for Newcastle's current success is contentious it's refreshing that we can at least now debate who are the 'top six', and it is to be hoped that the concept of an established and seemingly unchallenged top group will at least dilute over time. Brighton's contribution to this is especially praiseworthy.

Also sending Tim Robinson all the way up to Newcastle to hold the numbers board.

Crazy mileage.

However, that’s a cracking match for Jones up at St James’s.

We await with eagerness the Tierney we will get on Sunday.

At least we didn't get Kavanagh or Attwell or Madley (x2). I'd rather have Trevor Kettle than any of those! Remember his only ever match at Craven Cottage was magnificently referred and no cards shown and I am not being sarcastic!

I'm starting the 'weeks without Oliver/Taylor/Gillett' counter again

Robert madley to get a perm game after the World Cup perhaps?

Do we think he’ll get promotion again alongside Joshua smith for the 2022/23 season?

I think Bobby's perm days are long gone!  ;D

Hard to tell because he could have been given that game due to Oliver and Taylor being unavailable and Marriner and Harrington coming back from injury as Bobby already had PL experience or it could be the powers that be are trying to push him through to join the SG1 ranks again soon only time will tell

I suppose we will have to wait and see if any announcements regarding referee promotion to sg1 come from the premier league before the season starts josh smith must be considered for promotion even without madley
then again the referee chiefs will probably promote him for a 2nd time to sg1 and if they do lets hope he doesn't blow it
