Well John Brooke’s is certainly on the naughty step.
Poor VAR decision in Brighton v Palace has cost him his VAR place at both Anfield tonight  and the Emirates on Wednesday. Well done Howard Webb who has also called a meeting of officials to look at VAR and try to get things better.
Feel slightly sorry for Brooke’s as he is probably carrying the can for the rest of them, similar to a yellow in rugby after a general team warning. Marriner replaces Brooke’s tonight and Coote   at the Emirates

Note to Mr Webb - while you are at it please can you say if you personally feel Utd’s 1st goal v City was right or wrong

The Merseyside derby is a massive game for Hooper ( a thoroughly deserved appointment ) and he needs to have a very wise and experienced colleague as his VAR and Marriner fits that bill very well.

As for the Arsenal Man City match, appointing Coote in place of Brooks is rather like replacing a leaky watering can with a leaky bucket. However, Anthony Taylor is a vastly experienced and senior referee and I'm sure he not too fazed by whomsoever his VAR is.
