Horrendous appointing of Taylor, his last domestic game was Arsenal v Man Utd. Hooper for us, at least I've something to look forward to about the match now. Tierney with his usual Leeds Man Utd game. Big one for Gillett at the bottom. Return of Kavanagh as well :)

Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor both back straight away with Taylor getting the top of the table clash.
Hooper with yet another huge game with the merseyside derby, makes youi think he is a shoe in for the Carabao cup final

On a side note good to see Kavanagh back from injury as 4th official

I don't especially think there's an issue from that perspective. Marciniak's last game before the Argentina V France World Cup final was Argentina V Australia. And he'd done France V Denmark before that too. Taylor and Arsenal will both have been involved in various games since then.

You could perhaps question if it's sensible to give him one of the biggest PL games of the season so soon after he's got back from Club World Cup.

Good to have Kavanagh back.

I now think Hooper for final and that trio could be the final appointment. Excellent game for him continuing his great season.
Tierney with United again that’s 4 times now. Good to see Bankes with another game. London Derby for Pawson and Oliver with the M23 Derby, not Marriner again 😂

I certainly think Hooper is a strong contender but not sure he can be described as a shoe-in. Liverpool aren't having an especially good season of course, although it's clearly still a high profile game. And Andy Madley did Spurs V Man City yesterday which was also a big game. I think Madley is also possible but again don't think he could be described as a shoe in.

They're pretty brave to put David Coote as FO on a Merseyside derby at Anfield following the Van Djik/Pickford incident.

It was barely a week ago Taylor did Arsenal vs Man United. Andy Madley also did Forest on the 21st January. Why couldn’t Oliver and Madley swap games. Bankes also did Brentford that weekend.

Glad to have hooper for that game.

Return for Kavanagh with a 40 appointment and 2 championship games. Still only games in championship for Andre Marriner.

Weekend off for Darren England

John Brooks becoming a full time VAR?

I imagine Taylor is a replacement for Oliver. Oliver was originally down on Brighton vs Bournemouth last week, so he wouldn’t have done Brighton again this week.

Madley for us again…. Third appointment this season.

Hooper with the stand out game and Marriner at AFCB on the boards will please bmb ( although there is a real threat of yellow coming out for that match!)

Michael Oliver has refereed Nottingham Forest more recently than Andy Madley (the League Cup SF V Man Utd) so that wouldn't have helped if that was your issue.

I think that fact that a lot of teams are playing each other multiple times in a very short space of time is making it difficult to spread out appointments. Most teams have had every referee recently.

I think Hooper will get the final, but the Madley trio from the Spurs game was the back up plan, particularly with Madley and Lennard paired up again at Fulham.

Which is particularly annoying as I’m going to the Brighton v Fulham game at the AMEX a week on Saturday.

Was hoping for Oliver to get that match as a compensation for missing the Brighton v AFCB match, but that’s gone down the proverbial chute!
