I'm not necessarily sure about that - I think Anthony Taylor's appointments this season have been just as good and I'd say they're pretty much neck and neck, perhaps Taylor even slightly ahead.

Oliver does have the Liverpool V Man City game this time but Atkinson and Taylor did the matches between the two last season when those sides were clealry the top two.

Have to admit I was beginning to think Taylor was getting the slightly better PL appointments this season although I suppose this evens it up.  Not much to choose in performances from what I've seen.  Both have been pretty good overall albeit not always excellent.  Readingfan reported that Oliver and his team were very good in the CL in Lyons and I assume Taylor was fine at PSG as there was no adverse comment.

I still tend to prefer Oliver's style and interaction with players.  No pressure on him for Sunday's clash then with a few mind games from the Managers!!

With the way Mike Riley has introduced VAR this season, I'm sure we'll be talking about that come the end of the game.  ;)

Surely the number of penalties awarded by an individual official is determined by the fouls that are committed inside the penalty area, that are interpreted as a DFK, in the matches which that official is appointed to?  I don't believe that that should be used as a judgement towards a positive/negative performance over a period of time, unless there is a trend of making incorrect decisions?
