Great game for England on Friday night - off for a first year to be trusted with a match at this stage of the season that could impact CL qualification!

In other appointments, great to see Hooper given back to back games, he certainly has had a steady season. Pleased to see Marriner and Pawson get the decent double header in the week too! Hopefully Atkinson will make his comeback this week after missing out again Saturday.

Finally, Lee Mason! He has fallen well and truly out of favour! I’m surprised he hasn’t been given a PL game since the infamous free kick debacle. There are a couple of effective dead rubbers in these fixtures which would have been perfect to welcome him back. I do feel, and have felt for a while now, that he has perhaps overstayed his welcome in the SG1 group. Time to step aside and let someone else get the opportunity!

Good to see England with an important game, nice to see Marriner and Pawson with big games too.
I guess there werent too many options the pgmol would wish to appoint with Oliver being kept away from Chelsea and Leicester
Hooper could have been given a different game, and that games used as a trial game for sg2 promotion candidates.

Have to agree on the Mason front, wonder if he will get a game in the last set of fixtures and then retire?
I guess a certain w midlands manager may be pleased he hasnt whistled them for a while.

If Lee does retire, all the best to him, he was a steady referee in times gone by, but as you say has gone on too long.
