Manchester based Referees with games involving both Manchester clubs. I still find this hared to swallow. I know the protocols are different these days but I still think it's "unhealthy" (for want of a word) for Referees to be appointed to local clubs, irrespective of their connections or allegiances.
Its unfair considering Oliver isn't allowed Newcastle and Bankes Liverpool
I agree 100%. I would have no problem with Messrs. Kavanagh or Taylor being appointed to the Manchester derby or Messrs. Bankes or Dean to the Merseyside derby (unless they have declared allegiances to one of the clubs) but not when the opposition is based in another part of the country.
