Moss sent over to the screen to have a look at penalty for SOuthampton- was it clear and obvious. I'm not so sure. Don't think VAR should be getting involved there
Having seen it once in real time and now viewed the footage, am puzzled why the penalty was overturned. Should not have been a red card for Walker though.
Haven't seen the incident, but 2 reports I've read stated that even if the penalty had stood, it shouldn't have been a RC as it was an attempt to play the ball. However, both reporters were puzzled why it was deemed to be a clear and obvious error as the 2 posts above also indicate.
What did the MotD pundits think out of interest?
There seem to have been relatively few specific threads opened on PL games so far this season which is down to me as much as anyone. Is it a sign of less controversial decisions? I thought Martin Atkinson's failure last week to produce a card of any colour for 2 challenges in the Everton v Burnley clash for example, the first of which according to Gary Neville was very similar to the one that led to a serious injury and RC by Pawson for Struijk, would have produced some discussion. Memo to self - watch the action sooner and start a thread if appropriate!
