I'd be extremely worried if Allison was promoted to SG2 anytime soon, if his performance at the weekend was anything to go by!

A Google search suggests Simon Hooper is 40 so I'd think that would rule him out of consideration for FIFA.

No complaints with this set, everyone bar Marriner gets something in this round.

Particular highlights for me are Hooper with the biggest match of his PL career to date (in terms of club status), Gillett with West London derby, Brooks with South Coast derby and Salisbury on Friday Night Football.

I've said it before, but I will repeat myself - the appointments this year have generally been much, much fairer than previous years.  They're still overusing Oliver and Taylor (and this recent weekend with Oliver doing Sunday-Tuesday being poor planning), but everyone is getting a match at least once every 2-3 weeks now (except Scott who has only done one match so far - winding down to retirement?), and the lesser experienced referees are being given a chance.

I know a lot of experience left the group in the summer, but that perhaps was one of the best things to happen to SG1 for a while as it has freshened things up and allowed the likes of Hooper and Madley to make real progress in terms of their appointments this year.

Well deserved top appointment for Hooper, maybe he should of been considered for the shiny fifa badge at the end of the year with all the refs stepping down but he doesn’t seem to be in consideration for it which is a bit of a surprise

He's missed the age cut off by some distance.

Excellent and completely deserved appointment for Hooper. As other users have mentioned, Google says he is 40 years old which is of course why he wasn't considered for FIFA badge. Nevertheless, I hope he can go on to be a reliable pair of hands for big games like the one he is now appointed to. In terms of appointments, maybe he will take a similar path to Tierney in the last few seasons?  Also, I remember watching Hooper in his first PL season and I honestly thought he was never ready for the PL, both fitness and performance wise. What a turnaround, and he is now rewarded and rightly so.

Good to see TV games now being distributed around a bit more, we have seen Harrington and now Salisbury get TV games which I don't think would have happened last year.

Brammall can also be happy to get some games under his belt, especially considering in previous seasons some newly promoted refs hadn't even made their debut at this stage of the season!

I'm liking the appointments this season so far, still think we need one or two more refs to step up and show they can be given the biggest games regularly alongside Oliver and Taylor, but this is a good start with Hooper.

What’s the deal with NL officials holding the numbers board?

Will they have had to had some kind of VAR training in case they have to come on, or start the match in the case of injury?

Marriner does not seem to have had so many on-field appointments this season.

I have it on very good authority that my ‘continued moaning’ about him wearing y****w has given the appointments peeps a really bad headache and he’s on the naughty step at Stockley Park until either he promises to bin his y****w shirt permanently or find a way to stop me giving everyone a headache constantly!

AFCB home game for Jrs birthday 🎂 please appointments peeps and I won’t moan for a whole week…

Good set of appointments pleased to see Michael Salisbury get a TV game and Jarrord Gillet pick up another decent appointments. My only gripe would be that this is the 3rd time Hooper has had spurs in 11 game weeks even if the appointment is deserved.

My gast is equally and oppositely flabbered at having Scott for Bournemouth; awarded them a 90+8 penalty equaliser last time and sent off Marco Silva for protesting (that is so unlike him), and at last being allocated the sainted Michael Oliver. Myself and TTFL are no doubt waiting to be shot down in flames/suffering a major disappointment after two years of hype!

Michael Oliver’s last visit to CC was 24th November 2018…

I was referring to our joint whinging for the past two seasons where we didn't get him at all last time we were in the PL or for and Championship matches despite some pretty high profile and/or TV matches. You are correct this is his first visit to CC for almost 4 years, although we had him at Palace away in 2019, before we swapped places with Norwich (again).

Clearly not!

They haven’t been very good either in the first half… VAR has been busy.

In fairness what other colour could have worn. Blue maybe
