L2 Playoff goes to Tom Nield with Neil Swarbrick as VAR according to this.

Off the top of my head, would Nield get some VAR experience on his Japan exchange earlier this year?

Didn't see that one coming. Obviously the reward for a great season and kept largely under the radar. Well done to him. Does this mean SG2 is beckoning do you think ?

I think we will probably wait until Friday for the appointments to be released so that the PGMOL know the importance of Man United v Fulham.  Looking back at last year the appointments were announced on the 20th May with the final matches taking place on the 22nd

Seems strange appointments for the L2 Play Off final as three of the officials were involved in the semi-final appointments.

That's a huge ask and massively risky, refereeing your first game with VAR in operation in such a massive game.

Not only that, but Tom Nield refereed the first leg of Stockport’s semi-final.
