Tierney has had an awful week, I'm amazed he's actually go a game at all.

Been watching quite a bit of Championship this eason and there are quite a few who look ready to make the step up.

Darren England is scheduled to referee the FA Trophy final at Wembley on Sunday  dies that mean after the game he has to rush to Stockley Park for VAR duty on the Man City v Villa game

Tom Bramall has replaced Darren England for that final, so no clash.

I understood that F.A. appointments took priority over any other domestic appointment. I'm puzzled why Mr. England has been replaced, evidently in favour of a PL VAR appointment.

Good to see the three retiring refs with games although it would have been nice if Dean had finished at Leicester,  where he started on the PL, rather than Moss. I will update the Final Games database next week.

Where can we find that database please?

Good set of appointments in general, not sure about the Tierney appointment though.
Good to see the retirees all get a game and yes i am with acme thunderer in wishing Dean had finished at Leicester, not the same ground as his debut but leicester nonetheless and against southampton. Guess i am a bit of a sentimentalist.

Happy with Oliver on City v Villa.

Good luck to all on the final day, and especially to the retirees in their future pastures.

22 SG1 referees, 10 as refs, 10 as VAR, left only 2 and tbf they had to go to Anfield and Ethihad.
After that SG2 and probably proximity.

There's also Lee Mason as a VAR so 23 SG1 in total which allows an extra FO appointment for the Leeds game (Rob Jones of course!) but you are of course right with your general point. They'd have been struggling even more without England.

I suspect Darren England is injured and as Sian M-E has shown, injured officials can still do VAR.

That would seem a logical possibility, John. Thanks.

some SG2 referees as 40 are they likely to get promotion

The number of officals required in the middle and to cover VAR has been mentioned earlier.  Promotions for Davies and Simpson would keep the moderators on here busy over the summer months.

Amazed Tierney been given a high profile game. On form and relating to comments here he must be, on current firm, the worst preforming SG1referee. He was poor recently at Elland Road. Let's hope he has a good game.

And Mike Dean signs off with a clean sheet…..

Atkinson the opposite.

Tierney turning into the NEW Mike Dean with another penalty and a red.
