Good appointments IMHO, referees who have performed well and on decent form.
Special mention to the 4 reserve assistant referees as some/all of them look set for promotion

Good appointments, although Oliver does have a Tues game after Sun PL game.

I'm really not sure who will get the final now. It could be Moss but not sure how likely it is he'd get it as his final game. Possibly Friend?

First game in the FL for Oliver this season…

My money is on the card shark getting the final.

Suspect these will be updated, as it has been agreed that VAR will be used in all Championship play off games.

Finding these appointments a little odd… Marriner and Oliver vastly more experienced than Jones and Bankes for the other tie?

Tierney may get it again, he did Villa v Derby a few years back.
I wondered if Coote might get it, but not sure if Forest get to the final he would get it.

I just hope it isnt Moss after seeing him last night, that would be a step too far i fear, as would Coote in my opinion but probably not in pgmols eyes.

Media reports suggest VAR will not be used for the Semi’s, and no indication yet it’ll be used for the final either.

Wouldn't it need all 4 stadiums to be set up for VAR with all the cameras, pitchside monitors etc, which is highly unlikely as they start on Friday.

I would think the final should use VAR but whether it will ....

Appreciate that is the risk of VAR in some game(s)s and not others, which is the complaint made during earlier rounds of the FA Cup but imagine if VAR rules on a decision in the final, but was not used in the semi final for say an identical incident? Or even used in the Championship final and not in the L1 or L2 finals?

Part of me thinks the easiest thing for the EFL to do and say is to have no VAR at all in the play offs saying something along the lines of it hasn't been used at all in the Championship this season so not in the play offs either, probably trotting out the 'maintaining the integrity of the competition' line they seem to like when it suits them!

Although VAR would be beneficial in reducing any potential on-field errors in such massive games, I don't think it's right to introduce it during a season which is in progress as you're changing the conditions. For consistency, it's best to implement at the start of a new season if they're going to.

They have one mobile VAR unit so it could have been done technically.  It was reportedly said that it would only be used if all 4 play off semi-finalists agreed to it, so I can only assume that one of them has vetoed it.

Isn't that exactly what they are planning to do in Scotland?  VAR is going to be used next season but only after the November / December World Cup.

Which is ridiculous.
