I wouldn't disagree with you Readingfan, but maybe, as I indicated earlier, it has something to do with the fact that there are still 31 PL fixtures to cover in the next 11 days, and of course that includes 4O and VAR duties for the SG1 refs in some of the fixtures. OK, there is not so much riding on the PL fixtures, now that the title and relegation have been decided, but it is still a heck of a workload for them, including travel, which would be made worse if they had crucial Championship playoff games to cope with as well. I am happy to see Robinson, Harrington, Gillett and Brooks on the Championship semis, with a SG1 ref on the Final.

Indeed, several days work a week. Perhaps the NHS will clap for them.

Going by the practice of recent seasons I would suggest none of those mentioned will get any of the play off finals
I cant see, unless I need a visit to Specsavers, that any of the semi-final refs from the last few years has also been given a final. None of the final refs seem to have been involved in that same years semis so if the same format is kept we should be looking for 3 new names

However, the way they have done the appointing this year is different to normal - they are refereeing the semi finals in the league above where they normally referee.  I can't see the League 1 final being anyone but one of the 4 doing a Championship semi final.

I wouldn't argue with any of those appointments - they have been the best four officials in the Championship this season. For me Jarred Gillett is the best SG2 official and should be promoted to SG1 next season (IMO).

No surprise that the top 4 refs in SG2 get them. Nice to see them get a chance

Imo, Coote for final

Friend and Moss both have a good season in PL and they have never done a playoff final before(unless I'm wrong about it), could they have a chance?

See Geoff Eltringham is now refereeing Barnsley v Swansea with David Webb as 4th man. What’s happened to Harrington?

Geoff Eltringham replaces Tony Harrington for Barnsley V Swansea. David Webb replaces Eltringham as fourth official.
I also notice that aaa has cancelled out the whole of the appointment for the second leg due to be John Brooks. I wonder if it’s been decided that Brooks will do the final instead of a prem ref and Harrington is now doing the second leg.

Bizarrely, though, the appointment is still there on MOAS.

Robinson and the officials were the only people to take a knee.... I hadn’t realised both teams were not advocating this message any longer?

Any insight bmb?

I have no idea.  They released an anti racism video from the players just before the social media blackout but. I’ve not seen anything about it, not that I take much notice to be honest!

John Brooks has been appointed to the FA Youth Cup Final on the 24th May, most likely the reasons for the changes

Yes, that makes sense. Surprised that the FA Youth Cup final would take precedence over a second leg of a Championship playoff tie that’s usually done by Premier league ref.
