I watched Woolmer in the Derby-Luton game yesterday - there were three incidents where I thought he absolutely showed his experience.
1. The penalty - spot on decision.
2. An incident in the second half where Nathan Byrne decided to hold down Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for about 5 seconds during a Luton attack. KDH tries to release himself and pushes Byrne back to the ground and as a result holds his face to try and get him sent off. At first viewing I thought KDH had stamped on him and whilst the referee and 4O were miles from the incident, a yellow card each was a sensible decision. I thought he would've got sent off at first viewing for his reaction.
3. Colin Kazim-Richards causing aggro at the end of the game - managed to diffuse the situation and sensibly gave him a yellow after the final whistle.
To be honest, I wasn't Woolmer's biggest fan - I always thought he was a knit pickety ref, but seemed to have good control yesterday.
