Andy Woolmer's first Championship appointment. Great game for Rob Jones at Stoke.

Yes, Andy Woolmer’s first Championship appointment of the season.  He didn’t take charge of one last season either.  He is in danger of being as out of touch with Championship football as Ipswich are at present.

Yes he missed the first five months with injury. Came back and seemed as though he was in leagues 1 and 2 primarily with rob jones replacing him.

Wilson have liked to have seen a younger given a go the likes of Salisbury jnr, toner or Busby.

Jones will be busy refereeing Stoke and being 4th Official at Wigan.....

I suspect he’ll manage it, given the day between them

To be fair, one day is really only watching someone else; the unions would approve.

Would the unions approve of 90 minutes of being subjected to watching Comrade Davies ?

Some real dross from Langford in the TV game this evening, the Bolton boss understandably was not impressed with the offerings.

But his only grumble was that the foul leading to a goal wasn't a foul because his player won the ball.  Yes, he did, but he also took the opponent out in the process so that will always be given as a foul these days.
