Already had Stroud away twice too, granted one was in the cup. Very odd.

I think sometimes people underestimate the logistics involved when making appointments. There are only so many referees available, even more so once injuries and VAR duties etc. are taken into account. There are obviously two teams in every match a referee officiates who then play a different team the week after so it doesn't take that long to start using up the available officials.

Leeds have had Robinson, Jones, Davies, England, Bond, Stroud, Madley and Langford so far this season.

Derby have had Eltringham, Gillett, Robinson, Martin, Ward, Webb, England, Brooks, Jones and now Langford.

Langford has refereed 10 Championship teams already this season so there weren't too many available games featuring teams he hasn't officiated so far this season.
