No real surprise to see Jones, England and Brooks appointed to the 3 teams who are pushing for automatic promotion. Appointments are certainly indicative of Jones and England being top of the list for promotion, with Robinson's star somewhat faded since the restart. Geoff Eltringham picks up another decent game after some excellent appointments in recent weeks, and quite a few other games could be important in the battle to avoid the drop!

Usually a glance through the appointments would offer an indication as to who might hang up their whistle this year. I would imagine Andy Woolmer and Scott Duncan are the most likely but the appointments don't really reveal much in this regard!

Woolmer and Stroud have the only games with no real significance here.  I think Jones and England must be favourites for promotion.

I would agree with you on Woolmer and Duncan. If he does go, Scott will already have refereed his last game, and I think it is good that he had a real cliffhanger at Barnsley v Nottingham Forest to end with. Woolmer has one of only two games with nothing riding on them (as Greeny has pointed out), but I would imagine Andy will not be too upset if Bristol City v PNE is his last game (a bit like Roger East at Palace v AFCB at the end of last season, no pressure and a good game as a result). But then we've had Woolmer on the retirement list before now on RTR, and perhaps we should not be surprised if he returns for another season as a SG2!

John Brooks has had some good appointments really. I wonder if he's being considered for promotion at some point.

It was suggested Gillett would get a trial game in the PL but that doesn't look likely now. I guess SG2 refs could get a game on the final day but two of the few games not having much significance are Newcastle V Liverpool and Man City  Norwich which are still quite high profile.

Robinson seems to have faded a bit recently. Jones and England seem highly likely for promotion - there should be at least one spot available with Lee Probert having stepped down and you'd expect at least one other to go.

Finger nails are starting to get chomped.... although I expect us to remain in the play off places.

However if QPR and Barnsley are feeling very generous....😍😁😁😁😁
