Is the William Davis down to referee at Winchester the young gentleman from Manchester whom I saw have an excellent game at Penistone a couple of years ago? I have been hoping to see him again, but the opportunity has not arisen. Sadly Winchester is not a possibility.

Judging by previous appointments in the North, I'm certain it's the same person.

Interesting observation is that the two referees for the conference south semi finals are referees who have primarily officiated in the conference North this season and vice versa for the officials who are in charge of the conference North semi finals.

Good experience for them, especially if they are being considered for promotion. Plus give clubs a sense of complete neutrality as its unlikely they have had them before

A remarkable appointment for number 4 Tom, who was only promoted to 2A in December!

So, Woods must be pretty nailed on for the final. Would also expect to see Woods and Herczeg promoted to EFL for next term, question is might Tom Kirk join them despite only a handful of NL games?

Evidently, he's doing very well. Good luck to him.

Tom Kirk is an excellent referee and has a great future in front of him, i observed him when he was a level 4 and his performance  showed great promise then. With him being appointed to the Play-Off semi-final on Sunday after only a few games in the National league it shows that he  must be one doing very well so  good luck to him.

I share your good opinion of Mr Kirk. I saw him at the very start of his Level 3 career, at Blackpool, in a match which involved a fairly violent melee which resulted in four red cards, but where his approach and general demeanour created a favourable impression. Subsequent matches - at Padiham, Curzon Ashton (where he was announced as Kirk Thomas) and Brighouse did nothing to change this view. His career marked time for a while when he was working in the States, but I am glad to see him progressing well now. Number 3 Tom may have to look to his laurels if all goes well on Sunday!
