There's a recent BBC rugby podcast which includes several minutes of conversation with JP, who gives very little away. The one thing that baffles me is that, unless I am mistaken, JP is now unable to referee although I assume that means that he isn't able to be appointed by the RFU whether as referee or assistant referee or TMO. Perhaps employment rules are unyielding. How that leaves JP being able to be appointed to referee below L4 is hypothetical as grass-roots rugby won't be resuming for several more weeks/months, but I do wonder whether the RFU can dictate.
