England v India test series 2018
« on: Wed 12 Sep 2018 09:26 »
First of all what a fantastic series: full of ebbs and flows close games etc. Don’t think India deserved to lose 4-1 for their effort dedication and pride were excellent and England had/have a lot of problems.

Full credit to umpires Erasmus, Dar, Gaffney, Wilson, dharmasena and oxenford have been terrific. It’s not been an easy series in terms of pitches or conditions but the decisions have been spot on. Particularly the final test, dharmasena and Wilson - who previously I doubted - were excellent!

4-1 to England sounds like a walk over but far from it.  One of the most interesting Test series I can remember and possibly 4 out of the five matches could have gone either way.  I agree the umpires did well but I guess the series will be remembered as Cook's last and for Anderson's record.  Encouraging for Curran that he got man of the series especially after being inexplicably dropped for one match to make way for Stokes return after his unlikely escape in court.
