The Boxing Day Test - On the Feast of Stephen
« on: Wed 30 Dec 2020 19:42 »
Good king Wenceslas looked out,
Up went the umpire's finger.
Hawkeye said there was no doubt,
And so he could not linger.
Back into the hut he went,
Good grace was but a token
There he vented his dissent -
Both doors and windows broken.

He could scarcely show his face.
Gone was his Kingly glory.
Wenceslas was in disgrace
When tabloids broke the story.
This all cost a tidy sum -
What would his future be?
Like all "bad boys" he has become ...
A Test Match Referee.

The silly season is getting even sillier, it seems. Sorry!
