Does a Robert Hicks have some sort of hold such as incriminating material on Steve a Ganson and his fellow appointments team I ask?
 After getting the Challenge Final, Grand Final and one of the Tests v New Zealand last season he now gets this match too. In my opinion he didn’t have the best of matches in either the Grand Final or the Test but he seems currently to be the blue-eyed Mr Teflon of the RFL.
I still rate Ben Thaler as a better Ref but he seems to have spent the last 12 months in Hicks’ shadow either as his video official in some of these matches or in the weird role of “reserve Ref” as in tonight’s game.
Maybe it’s me as I am not too clued up on Rugby League but some of our keener aficionados may be able to clarify things better.
