I see Hicks has now taken up a full time Operations and Legal role with the RFL so will now step down as a full time Grade 1 referee and become a part time one, with time spent helping more refs at ground level.
He was one of the 3 officials selected as England’s Elite Squad of refs, along with Moore and Kendall. I wonder who will step up, if anyone? Surely not Child??
The announce to in the RFL site says further changes to the Grade 1 referee squad will be announced shortly. I wonder if Ganson is using this as an excuse to demote Thaler?
