I do think itís good and wise given the circumstances to see the non elite umpires get experience in test matches at the moment. However to play devils advocate, Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth travelled out to Dubai for the IPL and now Alex Wharf and others have travelled to Dubai for the T10 league.
Surely a Test series of the magnitude of India v England should have international umpires instead of these franchise limited over tournaments.

The Umpires for the T10 league in Dubai have so far been from England and Sri Lanka. Interestingly, Ian Gould is a Match Referee for this tournament. I wonder if he has now retired from the County Umpires list and will now be one of the ECBís Cricket Liasion Officers/Referee?

Alex Wharf
Nigel Llong
Billy Taylor
Paul Baldwin

Sri Lanka:
Lyndon Hannibal
Ranamore Martinez

Match Refereeís both from England:
Ian Gould
Chris Broad
