Alex Wharf made his ODI umpiring debut at Cardiff, England v Australia, in June 2018

he has umpired 3 x ODIs & 10 T20Is

Made his ODI debut for England in 2004 v India taking the wickets of Ganguly, Laxman and Dravid to win the MOM, he played 12 other ODIs

Is this in reply to my comment about 3 International Panel members making their debuts in the ODI series? If so, I am referring to David Millns, Mike Burns and Martin Saggers, who were brought onto the panel for 2020 to replace the promoted Michael Gough and the outgoing Rob Bailey and Tim Robinson.

I was adding information to your post highlighting that Alex Wharf has already enjoyed umpiring at International level and had played at that level.

I assume the same Umpires will be used for the Pakistan Test Series next week, given that our International Panel Umpires (Messrs. Wharf, Saggers etc.) are all busy in Southampton until then.

I would imagine so - can't see any of our International Panel members being given a test debut at this stage!

I, too, am presuming the same 3 umpires will be used. I'm interested in seeing who is 4th umpire for the first match as the 4 International Panel umpires are in Southampton the day before.

Yes, I can't see any of them travelling from Southampton to Manchester overnight and I would imagine they'll have to join some sort of "bubble"?. I wonder if they'll use a very experienced ECB Umpire, e.g. Rob Bailey, Neil Hartley.

Who’s Neil Hartley? I assume you mean Peter Hartley!

I believe Steve O’Shaughnessy will be 4th Umpire for the 1st Test v Pakistan.
Martin Saggers and Mike Burns to be 4th for one Test each at the Ageas Bowl.

Neil Hartley was a capable all-rounder who played for Yorkshire late 70s into 80s.

Peter Hartley played for Yorkshire in mid 80s, they might have played together at some time.

Yes, I remember them both in their playing days and that's where I got confused. I'm getting old!
