A clear indication that Nitin Menon and Langton Rusere are the next officials to be looked at by the ICC as they start monitoring the selection process for the 2023 world cup! And some good news for Zimbabwean cricket after what has been a pretty awful week for them!

Also, good appointment for Ruchira Palliyaguruge to stand in only his 3rd Test Match at Lord's!

With Adrian Holdstock replacing Langton Rusere, it’s clear the icc are taking Zimbabwe’s situation seriously. I feel for Langton as his career shouldn’t be affected by things outside of his control

In line with the changes for the West Indies v India series, the ICC website is now showing Zimbabwe as having no international panel umpires!

Congratulations to Wilson on his Test Match debut, hopefully he'll have a successful match.

Also interesting to note Nitin Menon as TV Umpire. A clear indication that the ICC are looking at him for the future!

Several news sources in India this week have reported that Nitin Menon will make his on-field test debut in November for the Afghanistan-West Indies match played in Dehradun. These sources are usually accurate on umpiring news but seems strange that he would debut before Shaun George or Gregory Brathwaite given recent appointments. I wonder if test debuts may be found for them also? Possibly New Zealand v England since it isn’t forming part of the Test Championship?

ICC world cricket league 2
Friday 13th September 2019

USA v Papua New Guinea
Referee - David Jukes (England)
Umpires - Jacqueline Williams (West Indies) & Sameer Bandekar (USA)

Another landmark appointment in international cricket, with Jacqueline Williams becoming the second female to umpire a men’s ODI match.

Also, interesting that Bandekar stood in his second ODI, 17 years after making his debut!
