Unless his absence is Covid related etc, Shamshuddin must be really out of favour!

I also thought Menon would be rested for this series, clearly not!

I was starting to wonder if we’ll see Shamshuddin at all too!

Congratulations to Aleem Dar who is standing on field for the 400th time in an international match today in the T20I between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. What an amazing achievement!

The pitches for tests 2 and 3 have been designated "average" and not "below average" or "poor" as to what I expected.

That is a joke of a decision by Srinath.

Nitin Menon has been very highly used in this series - on-field for all four test matches (**) all three ODIs and a couple of T20Is.  Has any player been so busy across these games?

** - At least the third and fourth tests were completed quick enough!!

It’s been confirmed that crickets Covid regulations will stay in place until at least July. So for at least part of the English summer, home umpires will still be used. So I’d assume the test championship final starting on 18th June at the Ageas bowl will have an all English officiating team.

There’s the possibility that for the England v India tests later in the summer, we could get neutral umpires.

Thanks for the update - by default the English umpires will likely get the final! Hopefully Gough will be rewarded for his performances this summer!

I am hoping that neutral umpires will return soon - the appointments are a bit too predictable without them!

Sri Lanks v Bangladesh Test Series

Referee - Ranjan Madugalle (Sri Lanka)

2: Kumar Dharmasena (Sri Lanka) & TBC; TV - TBC

Congratulations to Langton Rusere on making his test debut. I get the feeling the ICC may have big plans for him in the future given his age!

As for the Sri Lanka series, I am unsure why Dharmasena's partner is still TBC as I would assume it will be Ruchira Palliyaguruge!
