« on: Tue 08 Sep 2020 16:56 »
European rugby has appointed neutral(ish) refs, with ARs and TMOs from home nation.

Leinster vs Saracens - P Gauzerre
Clermont vs Racing - R Poite
Toulouse vs Ulster - W Barnes
Exeter vs Northampton - M Carley

@Bristol - M Raynal
@Bordeaux - F Murphy
@Toulon - A Brace
@Leicester - M Adamson

3 Frenchmen, 2 Irish, 2 English and 1 Scot

Given yesterdays results and today's games we have 4 Anglo-French semi finals.

I would predict Nigel Owens and Andrew Brace on Champions Cup semi finals.
With Mike Adamson and Frank Murphy on Challenge Cup semis

Predictions

Racing vs Saracens - N Owens
Exeter/Northampton vs Toulouse - A Brace (at Toulouse if Northampton win)

Bristol vs Bordeaux - M Adamson
Toulon vs Leicester - F Murphy

I can’t imagine you will be far wrong but wondered about Whitehouse or Jones maybe being in the mix?
Is Mike Adamson now seen as Scotlands no. 1 and possibly their best hope of an international referee for 2 decades? I had seen reports of 2 other up and coming refs, linnet and Blain I think their names are

Yes, Adamson is Scotlands No.1
I would expect him to get a game in the new 8 Nations tournament.
Sam Grove-White and Llyod Lintorn are next in line, Lintorn did well at U20 last year and I would think Grove-White would have gone this year.
Ireland have Brace and Murphy, with Sean Gallagher and Joy Neville behind them. Wont be long before Joy referees a Tier 1 mens game
Wales are the unknown at present. Owens is there but didnt do as many "better" Pro 14 games, unused in QF in Europe but cant see how he can be overlooked in semis. Whitehouse was the heir apparant but has not performed at Pro 14 or European level. Baby faced Dan Jones I think is a decent ref, Craig Evans has a lot of international experience on the 7s tour and Adam Jones is improving
Both England and France have strength in depth
