What an amazing night of football. This is why the Nations League is just so incredibly special for the little nations - the love, support & respect between the little nations is something big nations fans really miss out on. You get the wins, the regular tournaments, the glory for sure but you miss out on those special moments because they are normal for you.
When North Macedonia won, I was watching with one of their press guys (online but we also had a press chatroom open) and when the final whistle went, the entire Balkan and Slavic regions erupted in joy! The congrats coming in from Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Ukraine and even Romania. Genuine delight for them and it was beautiful as a football fan to witness.
The latter games - oh my! My beloved Norn ion didn't make it though, but we go again for the next ones. Happy (ish!!) for Slovakia - the ish only because it was at the expense of NI! Didn't mind so much the Serbia v Scotland result - I have good friends from both nations so delighted for the Scots and so sad for the Serbs.
As for Hungary! OMG. Szoboszlai

Mr bmb didn't have time to hit the mute button on Skype - his ears may recover one day! Bring on the big boys!!! Yep we will get stuffed in every single game but do you know what, we will love every second that we spend there, it's going to be so special. Congrats have been pouring in from the Slavic and Balkan regions. It's a great night in our history!
I remember Tom, one of our press guys raving about Szoboszlai when he was still about 15/16. He was the first in the press camp to notice how special this kid is. Thankfully I have had the time to learn to spell his name (and pronounce it) before he has become well known!

Tonight was for you Marton Fulop. 5 years ago today he passed away. Hungary beat Norway that night in the 1st playoff semi final (Clatts was ref & booked Gera - he is still not forgiven for that perfectly correct decision!), we were all in absolute shock about Marton, 3 days later we had a mins silence for him before the 2nd leg, I was sat near his family - we won and qualified for our first Euros in 44 years and 1st major tournament in over 30 years. Marton was on the pitch with us in both games. The day of our 1st Euros match there was a photo of our 3 goalies with a pair of Fulops gloves given to Király by Fulops dad. Király had them on the pitch with him - we won 2-0. Köszönöm Marton. Nyugodjon békében

Off to drink copious amounts of pálinka to celebrate and copious amounts of whiskey to drown my sorrows about Northern Ireland.
What a night!!!
Oh yeah Mr Kuipers can come again, superb performance from team ref!
