Not a great appointment for Wales v Hungary, and IMO not sensible given the last time Hategan messed up on British soil. Cakir or one of the safe hands would have been much more pragmatic. He does however have an important observer.
Scotland have the pleasure of Basil Fawlty for their last match.
I don't think the fact Hategan did poorly in a game in Northern Ireland should prevent him doing a game in Wales two years later (apart from if it was felt to be symbolic of his general performance level.)
He seems well-established in UEFA refereeing and seems very likely to go to Euro 2020, so no reason he shouldn't get the game.
