No way the game at Anfield needs Turpin. The game in Amsterdam will be mouth tougher. Liverpool are an easy team to referee really.
I had the impression that Turpin has been blatantly protected in 2022. Before that UCL final, after the UCL final.
He’s appointed to good games, but never the most fiery one, the headline game of the day, or otherwise something risky/sensitive. Especially compared to Taylor, Makkelie, Orsato, and Marciniak. They are much much more exposed IMO.
Let’s wait for his next appointments though…
