Thank you UEFA for appointing Danny & István to games with a different kick off time. Makes my life easier!

I will also point out, as we have been discussing it, that both of them only had 1 VAR appointment each at the weekend following last week's midweek CL games & their forthcoming CL games this week. Their respective games were also ones with shorter travel distances. Well done to the FRF & KNVB for considering their referee's welfare. PGMOL take note.

I think it is Jon Moss these days. Happy to be corrected though if I am wrong on that.

The idea of Mike Riley being the UEFA Referee Observer for Danny Makkelie has a vaguely ludicrous ring to it, akin to me being an Official Observer to the Judgements delivered by Lord Reed of Allermuir, the President of the Supreme Court.

I guess being one of the top referees in the world he doesn't need a big name observer these days

Thanks. As discussed before, I'm not sure there's a complete consistency between FIFA and UEFA's appointments in this regard. I'd certainly be expecting a referee going to the World Cup to be having regular CL appointments in the group stage.
