I forgot Soares Dias for a CL debut since I thought that he had already done it. Age I guess.  :D

I wasn't expecting Stieler so soon with a CL debut. Zwayer must be feeling the pressure for both EURO and WC 2022.

Zwayer seems to be totally out of favour at present. For a potential WC official to not have a fixture, for it then to go to a new elite official is interesting.

I didn’t think Soares Dias would appear given the current issues but here he is, with an important observer.

I believe that Zwayer is appointed in EL. But still it shows that the committee has focused on Stieler atm.

Surely Zwayer will not attend EURO, only 1 CL group stage appointment and surely he doe not deserve a QF or more so I think his chances are limited.

Great appointment for Stieler. I have seen very little of Soares Dias, is this a deserved appointment? Good prediction by Critics!!

English clubs now have to quarantine on their return from Europe - I wonder how this will impact on both European fixtures and domestic fixtures.  I don't expect to see any English referees out in Europe anytime soon.

Does this mean that due to English quarantine from being abroad we won’t be seeing any of our English refs in champs/Europa ref any more matches this season?

Highly unlikely.

The only scenario I can think of ( unlikely but possible) is it they switch a tie to the UK mainland, in either of the four nations. That would mean no travel restrictions. That all depends on the devolved administrations.

Travel restrictions may well play a part again.

I very much doubt there will be, especially as Oliver has been conscripted to VAR booth duties on Monday at the last minute.

Kuipers with an unbelievable achievement this season in terms of appointments. COVID may have helped this but still shows a very good quality of performance and fully deserved  appointments.

Cakir also with a good appointment, seems he has the full trust of the committee again.

Kuipers with 2 CL and 1 EL appointment on the Knock-out stage so far. I believe that this shows that his appointment on Barcelona - PSG was a replacement for possibly Taylor due to travel restrictions.
