Lahoz with the first big clash of the CL group stage. Decent appointment for Schärer at the Camp Nou with an important observer.

Yes, he is. Rosetti is probably looking for the new Italian Elite.

Would you rate Massa highly Edy?

I think that he is a good referee but he is not ready for the Elite group yet.

Agree, it seems Rosetti and co. will be making him the next Italian elite ASAP though, I suppose not too unexpected really

There does seem to be a lot of favouritism towards Italian officials. I’m surprised a high level game has gone to a first group official and yet the lesser ties have gone to the elite group officials.

Happy to see this ref on the game. He was excellent in the Nations League game v Serbia.

Still can't believe Hungary have a team in the CL! The whole country will come to a standstill during the match with everyone regardless of team cheering Fradi on. Just not an absolute humiliation please dear god of football!

How Irrati is still doing VAR despite numerous **** ups is baffling. He is always senior VAR too....

A big chance but he's had a heavy workload recently.  Moscow last week, Tel Aviv previously and the only SG1 referee to officiate in all 5 PL rounds so far, and is VAR for the game at Leeds this evening.  Do top referees thrive on this sort of pressure or is there a risk of mental tiredness?

Very important observer for Oliver.... this is his chance to show UEFA that he is number one in England by a long mile.

Treimanis under the Dallas radar as well... he seems to be a good prospect going forward.

Routine appointments else where, and incidentally I don’t think I’ve seen as many committee members observing in one night!!

The nominations for inclusion on the FIFA list from Jan are due in next week so maybe that's why so many committee members are out and about.  Either that or their respective wives/husbands/significant others are so sick of them with lockdown they are taking an opportunity to get out of the house!
